When my Reflexology lecturer Mr. David Wong stood before the class in the early nineties and started the lecture by saying, “Reflexology is one of the best things that has ever happened to me” I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be and so began my exciting and unfolding path into the ancient art of Reflexology.

My original studies at the Australian College of Natural Medicine Fortitude Valley Brisbane (now Endeavour College) gave me a solid foundation of strong technical skill and holistic knowledge. I graduated in Cert IV Massage in 1998 Cert IV Reflexology in 2001 and Diploma Reflexology in 2006. Post graduate studies have included Foot mobilisation, Cranial Sacral Reflexology, Chris Stormer techniques, Reiki Levels 1 and 2, travel to Indonesia to study and learn different Balinese techniques and most recently finishing a Diploma in Facial Reflexology.

Foot Reflexology techniques work reflex areas on the feet that correspond to specific body organs and systems. Pressure applied to these reflex points creates an electromagnetic wave that follows nerve pathways to reach the spinal cord and then the hypothalamus in the brain which regulates the autonomic nervous system. By helping to restore balance to the autonomic nervous system the body can feel relieved of stress and tension. This allows better flow of blood, lymph and nerve supply, which helps to support the body’s innate natural healing capacity ‘vis medicatrix naturae’ to work towards balance or homeostasis. Build up in the feet(calcification, lymph fluid, uric and lactic acid) indicates to a reflexologist that stress and its effects have begun to accumulate in the body and is moving it away from a state of equilibrium. Foot Reflexology can help restore and rejuvenate the body, helping to improve your entire well-being. Facial Reflexology ‘Sorenensistem TM’ includes acupoints, Vietnamese and South American Indian(Mapuche) facial zones, cranial line and points, energy balancing(linking), Japanese reflex areas(Yamamoto) and Dien Cham points(Vietnamese) making it a very powerful, comprehensive yet gentle treatment.

Facial Reflexology has been effective in helping with;

  • ADHD and learning problems in children
  • Emotional releases
  • Pain:Insomnia:Phobias
  • Bladder Control in MS patients
  • Menopausal symptoms
  • Improved mobility in Stroke patients
  • Infertility
  • Cancer patients
  • In my own clinical experience I have had very encouraging health outcomes by using Facial Reflexology in treatment programmes for;
  • Depression, anxiety, phobias
  • Under active Thyroid, Menopause
  • Headaches, Allergy
  • Neuropathic pain and cramping
  • Facial Paralysis experienced in Bells Palsy

In addition stimulation of the face improves blood circulation, lymphatic drainage,muscle tone (ie wrinkles) and nerve function leading to a glowing complexion!!!!!!!! (You really do see a change in your facial appearance!).

Foot Reflexology predominately acts on the blood and lymph circulation and encourages hormone levels in the blood. Facial Reflexology acts on the central nervous system and brain. Working both ends of the energy system of the body is powerful and effective.

Come and experience a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing treatment, whether you choose to have solely foot reflexology, facial reflexology or a combination of the two!
