Rebecca spent four and a half years studying her Bachelor of health science (Acupuncture) at the Endeavour College of Natural Health, which included a three week internship in Nanjing, China, where she spent time in the hospitals studying the diverse range of conditions that came through the door.
She has owned and operated her own clinic in Morayfield for 10 years and has recently decided to close this clinic and join the wonderful team at Woodfloria.
Rebecca enjoys treating lots of different conditions but her passion lies in all things Womens Health, specifically Fertility and Pregnancy, and IVF support.
Member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), work cover provider and health fund provider.
Initial Appointment
The first consultations will consist of in-depth questioning to obtain a case history of the client. As well as a medical history the practitioner will ask questions about diet, lifestyle, sleep habits, feelings of hot/cold etc.. Some of these questions may seem irrelevant or unrelated, however they are essential for making a correct diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is obtained a treatment strategy will follow and be explained to the patient. If the patient has any questions about the treatment, this is the best time to ask.
The treatment could consist of multiple modalities and techniques, depending on the patient. For example the treatment could consist of acupuncture, cupping and massage, which would give a better result than just acupuncture alone. The use of these other techniques is all included in the consultation fee and has no additional costs.
Follow up Appointment
Appointments that are booked after the first consultation will be a follow up acupuncture appointment. The aim of these treatments are to work on the goals outlined to the client in the initial acupuncture appointment. Clients can make regular follow up acupuncture appointments to continually work on specific health goals and maintain improvements from these treatments.
Fertility Initial Appointment
This treatment approach is using both a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and foundations of Western Medical Science.
Fertility appointments will be 1 hour duration and will consist in depth questioning of relevant information regarding not just the womans but the couple’s health. It is also good to bring any documentation of relevant blood tests, ultra sounds, sperm analysis etc, to go through during this appointment. If clients are about to; or already starting; an IVF cycle it is a good idea to bring that information along as well. Suggestions of supplements and dietary lifestyle will also be discussed. You will also receive an e-book valued at $30 email to you after this appointment which has some great information in it. After the initial fertility appointment is done, clients will only need to book in for standard follow up acupuncture appointments.
